Fort Myers Police Department Launches Mark43

The Fort Myers Police Department is excited to announce the unveiling of their new and highly advanced CAD and RMS system known as Mark43. This transition was led by our Administrative Support Services Lieutenant William Musante, who has played a pivotal role in this evolution to include the training of our entire staff to ensure they could operate this highly advanced system and utilize its full capabilities on day one of its implementation.

Prior to the launch of Mark43, Chief D. Diggs of the Fort Myers Police Department made a concerted effort to improve the policing tactics and technology of the Fort Myers Police Department to ensure the citizens of Fort Myers were receiving the best Police services possible to ensure their safety.

Chief D. Diggs stressed the need for technological advancements throughout the Department, while seamlessly transitioning to a data-driven policing model intended to track and proactively predict where crime has and will occur. Due to the Department’s advancements in technology, transition to the new data-driven policing model, and the unrelenting effort put forth by the Officers at the Fort Myers Police Department, the City of Fort Myers has seen a 48.7 percent reduction in violent crime, and a 9.8 percent reduction in property crime. (2016 - 2019)

As the Department made these technological advancements and began to produce a tremendous amount of intelligence through the data-driven policing model, the need for a highly advanced CAD/RMS system capable of handling this amount of intelligence and production became apparent. This need was quickly met by the Mark43 system, which now allows Officers who previously used 8 separate programs to accomplish many of their calls for service, to rely solely on Mark43, making them more efficient and allotting them more time to proactively patrol our cities streets.

New features such as recent arrest tracking, coupled with advanced mapping features will greatly assist Officers and their Supervisors with their day to day tasks.

The Fort Myers Police Department is proud to lead the way in data-driven policing and excited about the newly implemented Mark43 system that will assist the Department in reaching their goal of swiftly eradicating crime within the City of Fort Myers.
